DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE |

Elementary |
You will learn Russian alphabet, Russian phonetic system, common reading rules, basic grammar rules necessary to communicate in everyday situations. Gradual mastering of the verb tense forms. Listening and fast reaction to the simple teacher's questions. On completion of the course a student should know at least 750 words. |

Basic |
On completion of the course a student is expected to know case system, the use of tenses and verb aspects, motional verbs. Participles and verbal adverbs are known to the student. Students can name most common objects, describe people and events. Students are taught to avoid common mistakes. |

First Certificate (Intermediate, Threshold) |
A student can express most of ideas in everyday conversations of educational, cultural and professional spheres. On completion of the course a student can enter a Russian university. |

Second Certificate (Independent) |
A student can cover all everyday subject areas; the certificate qualifies candidates to be employed in Russia (except for philological positions). In the Russian-speaking region he/she may apply for a Master degree at Russian universities/colleges (except for Bachelor and Master degrees in Philology). |
