We'd like to congratulate a student of the Translation and Translation Theory Department of the Arkhangelsk State Technical University Ifaturoti Adeboye Oluwaseun with the win at the X Russian Language Competition for International Students. The Competition took place in Moscow at the People Friendship University of Russia on 18th undefined 21st November, 2008.
About 100 international students from over than 35 Russian universities participated in the Competition. The participants proved to have a good knowledge in the Russian language, history, literature and culture. The Competition appeared to be not an easy affair for the students.
During the first tour the students should write an essay on one of the following topics, undefinedI Love Russiaundefined, undefinedMy International Familyundefined , etc. The students sould express their thoughts in the logical way using the Russian language effectively. Only 16 participants left after the first tour. All the rest continued their competetion in the encouraging quizzing game, where they showed their erudition in the fields of the Russian culture, literature and history.

16 finalists had an oral discussion concerning different angles of the modern Russian and world life, stereotypes, way of life and Russian people habits. Jury had to choose the best from the best. As the result of the final competition our university student Ifaturoti Adeboye became a prize winner of the Competition, he won the 3rd place among the students-philologists. Our university is proud of him and wishes him a lot of success in all his initiatives and further studying of the Russian language.
We also would like to mention that other students from the ASTU took part in the Competition and also were rewarded by the Certificates. We are sure that such students prove high quality Russian language teaching in the ASTU and intellegense of its students.
