NOT ONLY STUDIES!
 The students’ life is more than studies… Each student at Arkhangelsk State Technical University may find the occupation that suits him/her best. Seven days a week the doors of the art centre are open for those who are eager to develop musical, vocal, artistic talents. The centre comprises various studios – dramatic reading, theatrical, singing, dancing as well as art club, poetry and KVN (Club of quick-witted). Thematic festive evenings, creative competitions, festivals and disco nights are organized here. It has become a good tradition to hold, for example, such competitions as “Miss ASTU” or “Fitness Festival” at the University. On the 1st of September, the so-called Day of Knowledge is celebrated: the newcomers are admitted to the students’ community in front of Arkhangelsk State Technical University’s main building. During this festive ceremony you can hear welcome greetings from the administration of the University, region and city and enjoy the lively concert with students performing.

Department of physical training is located in room 1520 (5. floor of the main ASTU building), phone 8(182)-21-89-25.
10 groups work in Sports club: basketball, volleyball, athletics, ski racing, weight-lifting, mini-football, table tennis, swimming, fitness.
STUDENT CREATIVE CLUB was founded in 1968.
The club’s activity is aimed at:
- cultural and aesthetic development of students;
- revival and conservation of the university’s traditions;
- development of students creative abilities;
- all-round and harmonious development of personality;
- engaging students and university personnel artistic and creative activities;
The directions of its activities are as follows:
- KVN ASTU league;
- KVN team of high school and ASTU students;
- Artistic word studio;
- STEM (Student theatre of miniatures);
- Theatrical studio;
- Vocal studio of teachers and graduate students;
- Acoustic guitar studio;
- Art song club;
- Studio of modern dance;
- The Creative laboratory;

HEALTH CENTRES FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS.
It is a structural subdivision of ASTU, which is financed from the resources of the state budget. It is the only health rehabilitation centre for the students in the North-West of Russia.
The Centre admits full-time undergraduate and graduate students of the budgetary form of education. It is free of charge for them at least three times while studying in ASTU. The students studying on contractual basis are charged for recovery course in the health centre. The cost for them makes 10 235 rubles per month.
The following types of treatment are offered here:
1. Physiotherapy:
Galvanization and medicinal electrophoresis
Low rate pulsed electrotherapy (Amplipulse therapy, Laser therapy)
General UV and local Ultrasonic therapy, ultraphonopharesis, medicinal induktothermia, D’Arsonval, UVC, low rate magnitotherapy.
2. Medicine and vitamin therapy (prescribed by the physician)
3. Water procedures and thermal therapy (medical baths, showers, sauna)
4. Warming procedures (paraffin applications)
5. Mineral water drinking (Essentuki, Narzan, Borzhomi)
6. Psychotherapy (treatment and consultations of the specialist in psychotherapy)
7. Needle-reflex therapy
8. Medical massage
9. Oxygen therapy (oxygen containing cocktails)
10. Daily inspection by the physician and the dentist, treatment of teeth and mouth cavities
11. Dietetic nutrition
